Introducing “The Kammy,” a reimagined election parody of The Nanny‘s iconic theme song, now featuring 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Tony-nominated sisters Ann Hampton Callaway and Liz Callaway, who created the original The Nanny theme song, have teamed up again to craft a hilarious and catchy parody, set to the same beloved tune. Instead of narrating the quirky life of Fran Drescher’s titular character, The Kammy follows Vice President Kamala Harris as she steps into the spotlight for the 2024 presidential race.
The parody begins with Harris “workin’ at the White House, what a cool VP,” before Joe Biden steps down from his campaign, leaving Harris to take the reins. “What were we to do? Where were we to go? We were out on our fanny!” the lyrics quip. Like the original The Nanny theme, The Kammy features music and lyrics by Ann Hampton Callaway, with both Callaway sisters on vocals. The video is complemented by animated visuals reminiscent of the ’90s sitcom’s opening sequence, making it a delightful throwback for fans of both The Nanny and Harris. 
Liz Callaway shared the video on Facebook, calling it “such fun” to recreate the vocals. Fran Drescher, the original Nanny star, even got involved by sharing the video, which quickly gained traction, approaching nearly a million views. Ann emphasized that the project was done out of “duty, love, and hope,” and praised Harris as the candidate who can “lead this nation to a brighter future.”
